There is nothing like building something from scratch, using nothing but passion, a desire to learn and a willingness to take a chance. 

Jeri Anne Darby, a Glencoe resident of about 18 months, has done just that. At one point, she didn’t know how to sew; now, she operates her own one-woman children’s clothing label, called Mimi and Mack, named after her children, 6-year-old Amelia and 4-year-old Wilson McLain.
