There’s nary a fall tradition more sacred and enjoyable than turning a pumpkin into something more.

Whether it has a hideous face, a carved-out spooky scene or something completely original, jack-o’-lanterns are a point of autumn pride and one that should be showed off on doorsteps, Facebook and to The Glencoe Anchor.

Halloween is just a few weeks away and in response The Anchor is starting up the annual Great Pumpkin Contest, giving residents three weeks to submit their best pumpkin efforts.
