Taryn Reidy Nichter, 40, of Wilmette, and Michael J. Dedmon, 40, of Eureka, were charged with criminal trespass at 4:20 a.m. Aug. 2 at the intersection of Mortimer and Old Green Bay roads. 

Both subjects were found in an area park after hours. Nichter was also cited for possession of cannabis (more than 2.5 grams and less than 10 grams) and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Nichter was released on a Notice to Appear, with a court date set for Sept. 11.

Meredith Falk is thankful to all of the teachers who have helped her throughout her scholastic career, so much so that she might just become one in the next few years.

Falk, president of New Trier’s Student Alliance, was one of 1,055 students to graduate on Sunday, May 31, at Northwestern’s Welsh-Ryan Arena. She was recently voted, “Most Likely to Teach at New Trier in 10 years,” in the yearbook.

The Village of Glencoe received numerous phone calls and emails overnight Thursday-Friday, Feb. 22-23, regarding a concerning message that was posted on Nextdoor, a community social networking site.

Adrianne O. Leech, 24, of Chicago, was arrested for criminal trespass to property, residential burglary and credit card fraud after she committed the offenses between June 12-22 in the 600 block of Vernon Avenue, and then fled the country.

Central Suburban South foes New Trier and Glenbrook South competed in four unscored games at the Central Suburban League 7-on-7 Invitational on Tuesday, July 14 at Maine West. 

New Trier rising senior linebacker Colin Casas, the lone returning All-Conference player for the Trevians, has taken the rising juniors who are new to the varsity program under his wing to help them transition from the sophomore to varsity level.

Tim Sheehan has been named North Shore’s new head of Lower School following the retirement of Pam Whalley in June after 23 years in the role. 

Sheehan comes to the school from The Latin School of Chicago where he taught fourth grade for the past 13 years, and also served as a curriculum coordinator, co-directed Latin’s Lower School assistant teacher program and coordinated the After School Program.

The search for a new District 35 superintendent is over.

The year-long search for a new superintendent to replace Dr. Cathlene Crawford, on the heels of 17 years serving as District 35 superintendent, came to a close, as current Director of Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Catherine Wang will take over as superintendent, effective July 1, 2015.

Crawford, who has worked in the district for a total of 20 years, is retiring at the end of the 2014-15 school year.
