Sometimes you get the break, sometimes it gets you.
On a chilly night Nov. 4 in Barrington, the Trevians looked to march on with a supersectional victory against Fremd amid the Election Night frenzy. In their previous match, the Trevs edged Evanston, 1-0.
But on this cold November night, the game showed how tough it can be. The game stood tense and scoreless after 70 minutes. Fremd finally broke the stalemate, punching one in off a corner kick, when Ben Borst got a foot on the ball from in close to give the Vikings the game’s only goal, the win and a ticket to state.
