It is an unseen illness, one that often shows no symptoms and returns as quickly as it disappears, and it can’t be found with a knock on the knee or a stethoscope to the chest. 

That illness is depression, the subject of Dr. Andrew Solomon’s talk in New Trier High School’s Gaffney Auditorium on Thursday, Oct. 23, a Family Action Network event. The Family Action Network partnered with a number of North Shore organizations for the event, including Glencoe District 35 and Family Service of Glencoe.
