The other week, I had a chance to talk to longtime Glencoe resident Henrietta Sachs — you can read her story on Page 9. She recently had a birthday, turning 101 on April 30. Needless to say, Sachs, a native Chicagoan but a resident of Glencoe since the early 1950s, has seen quite a bit in her time. 

When I asked her what her secret was — as if living to 101 involves some sort of secret set of instructions known only to a few — she shrugged it off, calling it a product of genes.
