A century has come and gone, and Family Service of Glencoe has seen through the village through it.

The organization was founded in 1914 and originally called the Glencoe Relief and Aid Society. Simply enough, it started when a Glencoe home burned down, and the folks in the community rallied together to help.

“It came together very organically around a very serious need in the community,” said Marilyn Perlman, president of the nonprofit’s Board of Directors.
