Geoff Shein, owner of The Training Center in Glencoe for the past 15 years, works with Michelle Litchman during a training session on Friday, Sept. 26.
One of Shein’s three fellow trainers, John Ziccardi, works with Dani Rusnak.
Joe Mueller instructs Tracie Kugler during her workout session.
Shein’s workout center, simply called The Training Center, has stood at 660 Vernon Avenue for 15 years.
While he trains others now, Shein played football at Northwestern University, where he was a senior during the Wildcats’ 1995 Rose Bowl season. Photo Submitted

From Dyche Stadium to downtown Glencoe, Geoff Shein has taken his interest in health and fitness from the gridiron to the village.

Shein, who currently lives in Barrington, owns and operates The Training Center (660 Vernon Ave.), which has been tucked away in a downtown Glencoe plaza for the past 15 years. Considering he got his first weight set when he was in grade school and went on to play football at Northwestern University, where he played linebacker after graduating from Deerfield High School, he’s clearly no newcomer to the weight room.
