Glencoe resident Andrew Berlin, owner of the Class A South Bend Cubs minor league team, announced the club’s affiliation with the Chicago Cubs during a press conference at the St. Joseph County Chamber Commerce in South Bend on Sept. 25, also attended by Chicago Cubs President Theo Epstein.
Four Winds Field, the home of the South Bend club, has undergone a number of upgrades since Berlin purchased the team in 2011.

Things are looking up for the Cubs, but not necessarily the Cubs you might be thinking of. 

Andrew Berlin, a longtime Glencoe resident and Chairman and CEO of Berlin Packaging, purchased the South Bend Silver Hawks in 2011, then the Class A affiliate of Major League Baseball’s Arizona Diamondbacks.
