Like the 2014 festivities, Glencoe Beach will be closed for the Fourth of July fireworks show in 2015, after a vote at the Sept. 16 Glencoe Board of Park Commissioners meeting.

By a 3-2 vote, with dissenting votes from Park Board Vice President Seth Palatnik and Park Board Commissioner Andre L. Lerman, the board voted to keep the beach closed on July 4, 2015, so that the Independence Day fireworks display could remain on that day. This was in opposition to the suggestion of moving the display to July 3, keeping the beach open on July 4, which falls on a Saturday in 2015.
