New Trier faced Lincoln Way East in the state quarterfinals for the second consecutive year, but the Trevians weren’t able to get past the Griffins this time around. New Trier fell 25-20, 18-25, 15-25 to Lincoln Way East on Friday, June 2, at Hoffman Estates, a year after defeating the Griffins on the way to a second-place finish.

The Trevians (35-5 went on a 10-3 run in the first set to turn a 10-7 deficit into a 17-13 advantage. The Griffins were able to get within two points at 20-18, but the Trevians finished off the set on a 5-2 run to win it.
