With candidates hitting the homestretch on the campaign trail, the New Trier Republican Organization held its 75th annual fall dinner on Sunday, Oct. 12, at Allgauer’s in Northbrook, and Winnetka’s Bruce Rauner updated the assembled party leaders on his race for governor against the Democratic incumbent Pat Quinn.

“Right now the race is neck and neck,” Rauner emphasized. “It’s only a few thousand votes. ... It’s going to be close and nasty. We’re going to assemble a hard ground campaign and we’re going to hit Quinn hard in the media.
