No one was wearing blue suede shoes, but there was a whole lotta shaking goin’ on last Thursday, June 6, when Rosie and the Rivets kicked off Chicago Botanic Garden’s Hot Summer Nights concert series.

The band played classics from the 1950s and ’60s like “Jailhouse Rock” and “Be-Bop-A-Lula” in McGinley Pavilion while guests listened, picnicked and danced.

Alexandria Seay, of Prospect Heights, and Bryant Maxwell, of Westmont, stumbled upon the concert after spending an early evening at the garden.
