William P. Kelly, Sr. died Dec. 13 in his home in Glencoe. He was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1919, and had been a Glencoe resident since 1955. He graduated the Abbey School, Fort Augustus, Scotland, and Northwestern University. He served in the Pacific Theatre in World War II as a Major in the U.S. Army Air Forces. After the war, he founded his own vending machine business, the Kelly Crawford Company. He also taught U.S. history for over 20 years in the Chicago Public Schools.
