In its last meeting of the calendar year, the Glencoe Village Board approved its 2018 tax levy at $14.4 million, a 0.84 percent decrease or a $121,952 decrease from the prior year’s extension. The $14.398 million figure includes the Village’s portion of the levy, the library’s portion and debt service. The overall decrease in the levy stems from the removal of the bond levy for the 2009 General Obligation Bonds from the debt service levy. This issue will be paid in its entirety by Dec. 31. The debt service portion of the levy is $1.76 million.
