Have you heard the one about the queen and the dentist? It’s the story of how one Glencoe dentist saved the day for the Elizabeth II, Queen of England.

Looking back into Glencoe’s history in honor of the 150th anniversary of the village, the story emerged of Dr. Norman R. Olson, of 219 South Ave. A dentist, Dr. Olson had offices on the first floor of the Drake Hotel, luckily located exactly where the queen was when she visited Chicago.
