Two New Trier students were diagnosed with pertussis, also known as whooping cough, early last week at the Northfield and Winnetka campuses.

Parents received an email Sept. 23 alerting them of the cases, which involved a freshman and senior, who were both vaccinated before entering high school but still caught the bacterial infection.

According to Niki Dizon, the school’s director of communications, all students are required to have the vaccination.
