A New Trier High School special education teacher faces DUI charges after being stopped by Highwood police early Thursday morning.

Colleen Koulentes, 36, of Northbrook, was found to have a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit — 0.198 — when Highwood police stopped her car at 1:28 a.m. Sept. 25 after it blew a stop sign in the 200 block of Waukegan Avenue. Koulentes was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and disobeying a stop sign.
